Jim was born and raised in Seattle, Washington.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Jim
accepted a soccer scholarship at the University of Washington.
In 1991, Jim graduated from the University of Washington with
degrees in Business Management and Psychology, with honors.
Jim scored in the top 5% in the nation of all law school applicants
on the law school admission test and was awarded a Merit Scholarship
to Seattle University Law School. Jim was awarded a Doctorate
of Jurisprudence from Seattle University in 1995 and was admitted
to the Washington State bar the same year.
In 1996, Jim co-founded Paglialunga & Harris with longtime
friend Charles Paglialunga. Since that time, the law firm
has devoted its practice to obtaining justice for victims
of accidents, discrimination, and other wrongful conduct.
During the course of his career, Jim has helped to rebuild
the lives of over a thousand injured people. Jim’s career
highlights include breaking open a conspiracy to cover-up
the cause of a construction accident that left a worker permanently
disabled, as well as numerous multi-million dollar settlements
and verdicts, including a $4.5M verdict for wrongful death
and brain injuries, and a $2.7M settlement for negligent highway
design.

Jim is currently representing individuals in cases involving
car accidents, medical malpractice, police brutality, negligent
highway design, maritime injury, negligent construction, and
complex injuries such as quadriplegia, and traumatic brain
injury. While most of Jim’s clients come from Washington
State, Jim has recently begun representing individuals in
traumatic injury cases all across the country.
Jim is admitted to practice in the Federal District Court
in Washington, and is a member of the American Association
of Trial Lawyers, the Washington State Bar Association, and
the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association. In 2004, Jim
co-founded Benefact, a legal website that provides charities,
hospitals, churches, and schools with charitable bequests.
Jim is recently married and lives in Seattle. His leisure
activities include playing soccer, writing music, studying
Spanish, and travel. |
