43 year old Gavin Coffee,of

Forest Park died in a collision on August 18,2006. The collision was apparently caused when a 21-year-old
Everett man failed to secure a load. The 21 year old could be the first arrested under the state’s new “Maria’s Law” which makes it a criminal act to fail to tie down a load when such failure causes injury or death.

Idaho ,Monica Lee Zajanc of
Boise ,and Quin Stone (the pilot of the helicopter),and Lillian M. Patten of
Olympia died in a helicopter crash. A team of aviation experts from the U.S. Forest and an agent from the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident.

16 year old Jennifer Boss of Everson was seriously injured in an accident with a dump truck driven by Carlos L. Wilkins,of
Maple
Falls . Initial reports indicate the dump truck lacked required warnings,did not have a pilot car in front,and had its wheels hanging over the centerline. The dump truck company could be liable for Ms. Boss’ injuries.
